A vibrant spring garden begins with the intentional steps we take in the fall. This workshop covers essential autumn soil care and bed preparation strategies to set your space up for success. We will explore sheet mulching, soil amendments, and protective winter mulches, alongside step-by-step guidance on planting garlic, shallots, and spring-flowering bulbs. You will also learn winter sowing techniques in recycled containers to start seeds outdoors during the cold months. Participants will take home a curated set of specialty bulbs ready to plant, along with a seasonal fall garden checklist.
This course will take place in my garden (located in Westport, near the Weston boarder) on Saturday, October 17th at 10:00am.
Our fall masterclasses are kept intimate, with materials and fresh blooms thoughtfully gathered in advance for each guest. Because of this, workshop seats are non-refundable. If your plans change, you are welcome to gift or transfer your ticket to a friend who can attend in your place. Simply drop us a note prior to class so we can welcome them by name.
